Spiritual Healing

Spiritual Healing - (Healing Mediumship) - Description and How it Works

In healing mediumship the medium, often supported by Spirit Guides or Helpers, channels healing intent, prayer, energy or spiritual support for a recipient's well-being, mentally, emotionally, spiritually or physically. This may occur in-person (contact under supervision), remotely (absent healing) or in group settings.
Spiritual healing does not overlap with mental mediumship, the purpose is therapeutic rather than demonstrative or giving or messages, while healing takes place, as the healer does not want to take the energy away from the healing process, which communication would. Here at East Hamilton Spiritual Church, we believe this to be unethical practice in healing.

Forms you may encounter:
Contact healing:
The medium lays hands, offers prayers, visualizes healing light in a physical/etheric field.
Absent (remote) healing: The medium works behind the scenes, often quietly, aligning intentions and Spirit energy towards the recipient.
Trance healing: A deeper state where the medium allows spirit more direct influence (see trance mediumship)
Group healing: A healing service, group prayer or spiritual healing circle, often led by a medium or minister supported by trained healers.

What a recipient can expect:
A safe respectful introduction; medium explains method, clarifies that healing is adjunctive, not a substitute for medical care.
Opportunity to be still, receiving the healing intent, perhaps speak briefly or sit quietly.
A concluding reflection or brief counsel to support integration of the healing.
Encouragement to continue any medical/therapeutic pathway as necessary.

Training and Safeguards:
Mediums and healers are trained in spiritual hygiene, ethical boundaries (no guarantees, no replacement of professional medicine), client confidentiality.
At East Hamilton Spiritual Church, we ensure that all healing practitioners are supervised, grounded in spiritualist philosophy, and operate within transparent protocols.
