Our Community Involvement

Community Involvement

At East Hamilton Spiritual Church we believe in being actively involved in our community. No matter where we are in life, there is always someone who can use support, and we are doing our part to make sure we are taking care of each other.

We proudly support the following community initiatives:

Breaking Bread - Sunday Lunch Share

We may never know what it is like to go without a roof over our heads,               or food in our bellies, but many in our community live this reality every day.

We recognize we are blessed with many wonderful cooks and bakers, that help put together our nutritious church lunches, allowing us to share in food and friendship, after our Sunday services, but it is not a blessing,                              if we cannot share it.

To do our part and try to help the most vulnerable in our community, a portion of our Sunday lunches are packed and distributed to those in need, by our church volunteers.

We may only be a small church, but we are committed to doing our part to help ease the needs of those in our community.

Spread The Warmth - Winter Wear Drive

Donations collected and distributed from October to March yearly.

As March winds down, we would like to say a Big Thank You to everyone who supported our Spread the Warmth - Winter Wear Drive. Because of your kindness and generosity we were able to provide winter wear to many of those in need.
We look forward to your continued support when we start our Community Involvement program back up again next October.

“No matter where you are in life, there is always someone who has less, so please remember to take the time to care for others”.
- Rev. Kathleen Barnard

The cold weather is fast approaching, and there are many in our community that are in need of help.

Donations can be placed in our collection basket or dropped off at the church. We can make arrangements to pickup your donation if you are unable to attend church at this time.
Please contact us at: easthamiltonspiritualchurch@gmail.com to make donation pickup arrangements. (Local only)

The winter wear collected will be packaged and distributed to those in need, by our church volunteers.

We thank you for your kindness and generosity.

 Hamilton Food Share

We are firm believers, that no matter where we are in life, there is always someone who has less, and that we need to do our part to make sure we are taking care of each other.

Through the generosity & compassion of our congregation, we are able to dedicate a portion of the monies generated from our many special events to be a Hamilton Food Share donation. Each dollar donated creates five dollars worth of buying ability for HFS to help purchase fresh fruit, milk, butter and many other perishable items, that are much needed in our community.

We at EHSC are firm believers, that no matter where we are in life, there is always someone who has less, and that we need to do our part to make sure we are taking care of each other.

To help families in their time of need, we are actively involved with The Mark Preece Family House by participating in their Thyme 4 Dinner program and donating the proceeds of our annual In Memory of Spirit Candlelight Service                     to their Adopt-A-Day program.

 541 Eatery and Exchange

We at EHSC are firm believers, that no matter where we are in life, there is always someone who has less, and that we need to do our part to make sure we are taking care of each other.

"541 is a cafe that believes everyone deserves access to good food. We give people the opportunity to help someone else pay for their meal by "buying buttons". Each button is worth $1, and anyone can use up to 5 buttons a day from the button jar to buy whatever they would like from the menu." - 541 Eatery and Exchange

That's why we are so proud to be a part of  the 541 Eatery and Exchange button programme. Another great way to help support our community partners in helping to take care of our neighbors in need.

We have set up a button jar in our Friendship room, and the buttons can be purchased for $1 each. The monies collected are donated back to the 541 Eatery and Exchange to help support this great cause.
