Our ministers are available to officiate weddings, renewal of vows, funerals, celebrations of life, committal to ground or columbarium niche, naming ceremonies for adults or children, and any other services their gifts may help you with. Reverend Kathleen Barnard, Head Minister

Reverend Kathleen was born and raised in Hamilton, the youngest of ten children. Aware of spirit from the age of five, she grew up attending a Spiritual church across the street from her childhood home, where she developed her gifts of clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience.

She has been with East Hamilton Spiritual Church since 2005. For over 20 years she has served on the Board of Directors, as Secretary and Vice President, and has led the church as President since 2013. Alongside her work in healthcare, specialising in dementia and palliative care, she facilitates classes in meditation, evidential mediumship development and spiritual healing. Her motto is: "No matter where you are in life, there is always someone who has less, so please remember to take the time to care for others."

Reverend Kathleen holds certificates as a Spiritual Healer, Evidential Medium and Podium Worker, and was the first official ordained Minister of East Hamilton Spiritual Church, on Mother's Day, May 8th, 2016. She is a registered Marriage Officiant with the Province of Ontario.

 

Reverend David Jewell, Minister

Reverend David was born and raised in Cambridge, Ontario, the oldest of five children, and was introduced to Spiritualism by his father over 30 years ago. Having overcome a battle with alcoholism through the power of spirituality, he is passionate about helping others recover from addiction, and balances his spiritual learning with a deep respect for science and medicine.

A long-standing member of our church family, David served as church Treasurer for over 10 years and is now Vice President. He is a Spiritual Healer, Evidential Medium and Inspirational Speaker, and leads our monthly Sitting in the Power meditation. He was ordained on Sunday, May 26th, 2024, and is a registered Marriage Officiant with the Province of Ontario.

 

Reverend Kerry McLeod, Minister

Reverend Kerry McLeod is internationally recognised as a Minister, Evidential Medium, Tutor and Transformational Coach. Together with her husband, Reverend Philip Dykes, she teaches, mentors and demonstrates around the world, promoting integrity, clarity and authenticity in evidential mediumship.

Her earlier career in leadership and change management in the UK shapes her compassionate, structured approach. She is a Fellow of the International Authority for Professional Coaching and Mentoring, an accredited Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation, and appears in the documentary Evidence of the Afterlife. At EHSC she conducts Sunday services and ceremonies, and offers spiritual education and mentorship. She was ordained on October 24th, 2025.

 

Reverend Philip Dykes, Minister

Reverend Philip Dykes is recognised worldwide as an Evidential Medium, Tutor, Minister and Transformational Coach, with over twenty-five years of experience. Together with his wife, Reverend Kerry McLeod, he delivers courses, demonstrations and mentorship globally, dedicated to raising the standard of evidential mediumship.

Philip previously volunteered with a UK platform accreditation scheme, supporting the training of developing mediums and public speakers. His work has reached audiences through national radio, Netflix, Amazon Prime and the documentary Evidence of the Afterlife. At EHSC he leads Sunday services, naming ceremonies and celebrations of life, and mentors students. He was ordained on October 24th, 2025.
